From Festivals to Farmers Market
From a grad school project to a farmers market pop-up during the pandemic, TACO NACO KC now operates several locations in Kansas City and Overland Park serving chef-designed tacos, burritos, salsas, quesos, margaritas, and amazing seasonal specials.

Our mission is to serve an inclusionary diverse and delicious taco experience while encouraging and supporting sustainability and empowerment among our staff, customers, and stakeholders.

We dream of a sustainable and eco-focused future where we can all sit down, set our differences aside, and enjoy the company of one another over a plate of delicious tacos of all types.

Our tacos are crafted with love and passion by Chef Fernanda Reyes. She wanted to create a unique concept that deviates from the local “Tex Mex” and traditional tacos while celebrating the diverse regional flavors of Mexico.

All tacos are created differently. Some define it as a wrapped corn tortilla with filling, while others say it can also be made with wheat or “fried pancake”. However, we can all agree that tacos are delicious and come with a variety of fillings. Everyone has their own preference, and that's okay. We may all have different likes, but at the end of the day, we accept all tacos.

Chef Fernanda's culinary philosophy, "made fresh, made today," is based on using good, fresh ingredients to bring out the best flavors in dishes. Artisanal small batch providers offer quality ingredients that unlock a diverse range of flavors, creating a gastronomic experience that takes you back to the moment when you first tasted that flavor. Whether it's the raw corn, stone ground maize, juicy chicken, or authentic deep flavor of mole, each bite is a journey through your palate. We invite you to take that journey.

Naco is a celebration of individuality and tradition, embracing the uniqueness and flamboyancy of subcultures and their respective self-identities. Used originally to categorize social outcasts of Mexico City, the term has since been re-appropriated with a sense of pride and taken back as a symbol of strength, individuality, and playful spirit.

Representative in Chef Fernanda’s diverse array of tacos, Taco Naco KC is about tacos for every individual. We celebrate all peoples, individuals, cultures, and our inherent drive for individual self-expressionism of our traditions, big or small. We are all outcasts in some way or function, whether it be the color of our skin, our political or economic beliefs, our fine-tuned interests and humor, our religious and philosophical beliefs, our unique styles and personalities, our religions and rituals, our ethnicities and nationalities, our languages and general looks. We all laugh. We all cry. We all bleed. We all heal. And ultimately, we are all human, together as one, and we all love tacos.
